PRESS RELEASE – The Shelburne Curling Club receives a $14,388 grant from Canadian Tire’s Jumpstart to support youth programming.
“The impact this grant had on not only our program, but organization was invaluable! With the money that was awarded to us from Jumpstart, we were not only able to purchase $11,000 of new equipment consisting of brooms, grippers, sliders, and stick delivery devices, but we also are able to send more members to take training courses to provide high quality youth and learn to curl programs. This funding helps us break down barriers and get more people into curling creating a healthier club and community!” said Emma Holmes, SCC Board Director and Grant Coordinator.
The Shelburne Curling Club and Board of Directors believes that every child should have the opportunity to participate in sport. The Shelburne Curling Club is working hard to create a sustainable club for the future generations to enjoy, while trying to break down any participation barriers there might be to our community.
